Call for Abstracts

SUBMISSION DEADLINE EXTENDED: FEBRUARY 18, 2022


The Colloquium on Innovative World Language Pedagogies invites proposals for paper presentations relating to the thematic strands of language pedagogy or language beyond the classroom. We welcome abstracts from University of Minnesota language educators as well as graduate instructors who teach any world languages. Instructors of Less Commonly Taught Languages are especially encouraged to apply. Papers may focus on research and/or classroom practice, and may address topics within the thematic strands above that include, but are not limited to:

  • Technology integration in the world language classroom;
  • Teaching gendered language;
  • Flipping the world language classroom;
  • Preparation for study or living abroad; 
  • Social justice pedagogy in the world language classroom;
  • Language teacher education;
  • Innovations in curriculum design; 
  • Innovations in community outreach.  
     

Submission guidelines: Paper presentations should not exceed 15-20 minutes, and should be delivered in English. Proposals should be submitted via the link below and should include: 

  • Paper title 
  • Abstract of 250-300 words 
  • Keywords 

We welcome abstract submissions by individual authors or by two authors who will deliver their paper jointly. 

 

Submission deadline extended to Friday, February 18, 2022. 

Notifications of acceptance will be sent out by Monday, February 28, 2022.
